Anthony “Tony” Mithiga Owuor has been part of Everett’s soccer community for more than twenty years as a player, coach, mentor, and club leader. He played for the Everett High School teams that won back-to-back Greater Boston League championships in 2003 and 2004, the first soccer titles in the city’s history. He later returned as a coach and helped Everett win another GBL championship in 2008.

Today, Tony serves as President and Director of Coaching for Everett Soccer Club. In these roles, he leads the club’s long-term direction while overseeing coaching standards, coach development, player pathways, and the quality of the training environment. His experience spans grassroots, travel, and high school soccer, as well as player-development work with the New England Revolution.

Tony holds coaching qualifications and certificates from U.S. Soccer, United Soccer Coaches, the National Federation of State High School Associations, and the Football Association of Wales. He is also pursuing graduate studies in Global Governance and Human Security at UMass Boston, where his academic work explores how institutions and community programs can create belonging, opportunity, and stronger pathways for young people.

Tony believes soccer should develop the whole person. He works closely with players, families, and coaches to build a safe and welcoming club where children receive quality instruction, learn discipline and responsibility, and have a fair opportunity to reach their potential both on and off the field.

Samantha Perkins has been part of Everett Soccer Club for most of her life, first as a player and later as a coach and club leader. She joined the program in 2007 and began coaching in the Junior Academy in 2015. After years of working with the club’s younger players, she was appointed Director of Junior Academy in 2021.

Today, Sam serves as Vice President and Director of the Little Boots Academy. In these roles, she supports the club’s daily operations while helping introduce its youngest players to soccer in a positive, welcoming, and age-appropriate environment.

Sam remains actively involved on the field throughout the week, coaching multiple groups and supporting players at different stages of development. Her focus is on helping every child enjoy the game, build confidence, develop foundational skills, and feel a genuine sense of belonging within Everett Soccer Club.

Gloria Vasquez brings nearly two decades of experience as a soccer parent, supporting young players both on and off the field for more than eighteen years. Her journey began by cheering on her daughter and continues today as she supports her son’s development in the game.

Gloria has also spent the past seven years managing boys’ teams from U6 through U12. Her experience began with Waltham Youth Soccer and now continues in Everett, where she is committed to helping strengthen the local soccer community. Having played soccer herself, she understands the confidence, friendships, and life lessons the game can give young people.

Today, Gloria serves as Secretary and Club Administrator for Everett Soccer Club. She manages official club records and supports family communication, registration, program administration, and other day-to-day needs. As a bilingual Spanish and English speaker, Gloria helps the club communicate with and support more of Everett’s families. Her experience as both a parent and team manager allows her to understand the questions families face and serve as a dependable resource throughout their time with the club.

Brenda Ngwalla brings more than nine years of experience working with leading global financial institutions. Her professional background includes risk management, operational resilience, financial controls, and reporting, giving her the experience needed to help oversee the club’s finances with care and accountability.

Brenda previously served as Treasurer for the Jokanyanam Women Empowerment Group, also known as JOWES. In that role, she helped manage funds supporting economic empowerment initiatives for Kenyan women and gained valuable experience in financial stewardship within a community organization.

Today, Brenda serves as Treasurer of Everett Soccer Club. She is also a soccer mom within the Everett soccer community, giving her a personal understanding of the experiences, expectations, and concerns of club families. She works to keep the club’s finances organized, transparent, and prepared for responsible growth.

Brenda believes soccer brings people together and is proud to support opportunities for Everett’s young people and families. Outside of her professional and volunteer responsibilities, she enjoys spending time in nature, where she finds space to recharge.

Yariel Santos brings valuable playing, coaching, and leadership experience to Everett Soccer Club. A former varsity standout, he played during his junior and senior years, served as team captain, and helped lead Everett to a Greater Boston League championship in 2023. He also competed at the club level with New England Futbol Club, giving him firsthand experience in competitive player-development environments.

Today, Yariel serves as Assistant Director of Coaching and leads the club’s High School Development Academy. He works closely with President and Director of Coaching Tony Mithiga Owuor, assisting with the club’s daily coaching operations, supporting coaches and players, and helping maintain consistent standards across the program. He also brings two years of experience coaching boys in grades nine and ten.

Yariel is currently pursuing a degree in Business at Bunker Hill Community College. His coaching emphasizes leadership, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. He is committed to creating an environment where young players can build confidence, sharpen their skills, and prepare for their next opportunity both on and off the field.
